High-capacity 21700 rechargeable lithium-ion cell for professionally engineered power-tool and battery-pack applications. A 5000mAh typical capacity combines with a 3.6V nominal voltage and a 25A continuous-discharge specification.
45A discharge is specified only with an 80°C cell-surface temperature cut-off. This is a component cell, not a protected consumer battery.

The supplied Samsung SDI specification identifies INR21700-50S as a rechargeable lithium-ion cell manufactured in Korea for power-tool applications. Typical capacity and rated minimum capacity use different charge and discharge test conditions; they should not be treated as interchangeable measurements.
Source: supplied Samsung SDI specification v0.2, September 2020. Unless otherwise specified, standard tests use 23 ± 3°C and humidity below 65%.

The chart below plots specified relative discharge capacity against discharge current. It is derived from section 7.9 of the supplied specification, not from voltage-versus-capacity measurement traces.

| Current | Relative capacity |
|---|---|
| 10A | 100% |
| 15A | 95% |
| 20A | 95% |
| 30A | 93% |
Cells are charged using the rated profile: 6A, 4.20V and 100mA cut-off. Discharge capacity is then measured at the listed currents to 2.5V. The reference capacity at 10A and 23°C is 4800mAh, indexed as 100%.
The 30A data point is a specified test condition. It does not increase the 25A continuous rating without temperature cut-off. Actual pack performance depends on temperature, cooling, connections and protection settings.
Section 7.6 compares discharge capacity at 10A across five temperatures. Lower temperature reduces available capacity; the chart is not a voltage discharge curve.

| Temperature | Relative capacity |
|---|---|
| -20°C | 80% |
| -10°C | 85% |
| 0°C | 85% |
| 23°C | 100% |
| 60°C | 95% |
| Charge temperature | Relative capacity |
|---|---|
| 0°C | 90% |
| 5°C | 90% |
| 23°C | 100% |
| 45°C | 95% |
| 50°C | 95% |
| 60°C | 90% |

≥2940mAh after 100 cycles at 25°C.
Charge: 6A CCCV to 4.20V with 100mA cut-off. Discharge: 45A to 2.5V, with 80°C cut-off and re-discharge release below 50°C.
These are capacity thresholds under the specified high-load cycle tests, not guaranteed service life for every application. Pack protection must monitor the hottest cell-surface location. The 45A test uses stricter restart conditions than the general surface-temperature guidance.
